Bayside
 

Bayside was settled in the 17th century, after Flushing was established. Bayside's name comes from the location of this area, in reference to Little Neck Bay. Bayside's schools are among the best in New York City. Bayside is also known for its waterside dining, as well as its night-time entertainment in establishments along the shore line of Little Neck Bay. Bayside's main shopping and commercial district is located along Northern Blvd and Bells Blvd.

Bayside is made up of young professionals who commute to NYC, as well as some small to medium sized families. Bayside has an international influence, with people settling from all parts of the world, to begin a new life.

Bayside is mainly made up of multi-family homes and small one to six story apartment buildings. The rents are fairly reasonable, as most rentals range from studios $700-$950, one bedrooms from $900-$1250, and two bedrooms from $1300-$1800.

Bayside is car country.Besides the Long Island Rail Road (LIRR), which can get you to Penn Station in approximately 25 minutes, you will need a car. The closest New York City subway is at the Main Street station in Flushing.
