Though it
is technically in Farmingdale, the Bethpage State Park brings the town on the radar of
every golf lover. Scene of the 2002 Open, the Championship will return in 2009.
This expanse of green is a tough challenge for even the likes of Tiger Woods,
but it is a zone of natural refreshment and open air for ordinary people who
are fortunate to chance upon it. The course and the Park may be seen as symbols
of Bethpage's devotion to excellence. The town
provides near ideal conditions for living for people of all ages.
The Bethpage model of modern community living
starts with education. New York State acknowledges the superior
performance of Bethpage Schools. The District's leadership extends to sports
and other extra-curricular activities apart from academics. Three Elementary
Schools accompany a High School and a Middle School named after John F.
Kennedy. A Continuing Education School and an Academy of Technology provide learning opportunities for
adult residents of Bethpage.
Briarcliffe College continues in the same vein of
scholastic excellence and adds to the town's celebrated name through vocational
education in computers and business management. The town's public library keeps
in tune with Bethpage's worthy obsession with learning and
has every contemporary learning aid and resource at the disposal of the
community it serves. The Northrop Grumman History Center is a fine donation by big business
based in Bethpage to the people in who reside its roots.
This Center is a fascinating expose of some cornerstone achievements in
technology and records Bethpage's specific role in this regard.
The
Bethpage Chamber of Commerce plays a salutary role in bringing members of the
business community together. It also provides a firm and broad bridge between
community and enterprise. The Chamber provides a sense of belonging and pride
and residents are inevitably drawn to their town of Bethpage in close manner. The Chamber has a
significant part in the process of developing Bethpage for the future and in how key
resources are used for the public good.
The Bethpage Community Center gives tangible and sound expression
to community aspirations and provides a valued platform for meetings and debate
on issues of local and national importance. People are major beneficiaries as
they have regular medical camps, social events and other activities to spend
their retired lives in peace and enjoyment. Bethpage deserves commendation for its
exemplary dedication to older people and the path it shows to enabling elders
spend the autumns of their lives in productive and harmonious manner.
'People'
is a not for profit counseling service that focuses on people who wish to
recover from addictive substances including narcotics and alcohol. It has
served all comers without distinction for over three decades. The service also
helps children of addicts and others who need help to correct learning
deficiencies. Significant resources are deployed in prevention and awareness
work.
Bethpage is a complete town with a full range
of shopping, service and urban amenities. The Bethpage Federal Credit Union
offers comprehensive financial services at attractive rates and competitive
conditions. Customers have a choice of loan and deposit products to suit every
need and the Bank staff takes special pride in the quality and intimacy of
their personal yet professional service. Dining is a pleasure in Bethpage and there is something to suit all
palates and budgets. Evening entertainment is pleasant and varied as well, with
good access to larger towns in the County. ParkTerrace.com offers property here and help people who wish to move in
to Bethpage and also those who have occasion to
sell property. Bethpage is truly Championship territory,
setting sublime standards in all aspects of community life for others to
observe, enjoy and to emulate.
