The Blue
Point name is used by Long Island's only microbrewery. Blue Point Brewing's golden liquids
have found rapid market acceptance even beyond New York State. Rapid expansion plans include a
sophisticated tasting room and entry in to new market segments. This company of
recent vintage has been formed by two friends who love to brew and who
met-guess where and how-over beers in a bar! This is a typical story of the
Blue Point story that works on relationships for mutual benefit. The 25 barrel
brew-house is based in Patchogue but carries the Blue Point name far and wide.
Mazzei's
Restaurant appreciates Blue Point value with another approach. Instead of the
town name on its masthead, it has created a novel food preparation style that
has gourmets making a bee-line for table reservations! This restaurant
celebrates New American cuisine with flair, elegance and attentive service. Set
in a sprawling building amongst generous lawns, this restaurant turns every
meal in to a special occasion. Fresh ingredients attractively plated and with
an unusual flavor, are hallmarks of a menu adorned with prime aged steak, pasta
and seafood. Dancing welcomes weekend nights.
Cavanaugh's
is another restaurant of distinction in Blue Point. It has a warm and friendly
ambience and a high quality menu designed to satisfy most kinds of tastes and
appetites. The Irish undertone strikes you even as you approach the entrance
and stays with you throughout your meal or if you should just drop in for a
quick drink. Guests invariably feel like returning and can count on being
recognized and given a hearty welcome.
One may
be excused for thinking that Blue Point is a kind of extended Food Plaza, for
it boasts of no less than 9 restaurants apart from Mazzei's and Cavanaugh's. An
oyster bar, Chinese and Thai food choices fight for attention with Delis,
Luncheonettes and Pizzerias. A complete range of routine shopping options as
well as some businesses of distinction grace the town and serve its residents.
GottaHavitNY
is a flourishing business that is based in Blue Point. This company involved in
lingerie has a modern ecommerce option on the Internet and excels in customer
service and quality goods for women of all builds. It has a range for men,
novelty items and caters to personal preferences in inner wear.
'Heartland
on-the Bay' offers quality private accommodation for residents. A scenic Victorian building
is the site of this discreet service on 2 acres of quiet neighborhood with a
pool and beach for residents.
The
tranquility of Blue Point belies the important logistic role it had in the
American Revolution, when the English used it to ferry goods and support to Manhattan. It is now a suitable
neighborhood for a life close to nature with modern conveniences also at hand.
People of all ages and backgrounds form a culturally rich and supportive
community in the town.
