My Neighborhood - Long Island, New York
Brookville

Brookville is a lovely neighborhood in the Oyster Bay area of Nassau County on Long Island's beautiful north shore. The idyllic neighborhood known as the "Gold Coast," is an historic suburban community. It has fewer than three thousand residents and is a multicultural community with a very well educated and wealthy population. Ones attraction to the area is perhaps the easy commute of about half an hour to Manhattan and the good educational facilities.

The C.W. Post campus of Long Island University is located in Brookville. The University has a tradition of excellence since 1954, and offers nearly 250 academic programs. It is known for its small classes and distinguished faculty. The C.W. Post Campus of Long Island University encompasses over 300 acres featuring historic mansions, 4,000 trees, magnificent formal gardens, sprawling green lawns, and nature trails. The art Center and auditorium of the University are centers that hold many of the local cultural events for the residents.
