Centereach is one of Long Island's larger towns with over 27 thousand
residents and an area of about 8 square miles. It is part of a dynamic real estate market with newly
constructed homes available. A number of reputed realtors cover the town and
offer detailed information, due process and a wide choice of homes and properties from
which prospective buyers can make a selection. Hough and Guidice Realty is one
of the better knows realtors based in Centereach. People are attracted to the place in increasing
numbers and the local administration works hard to keep pace with the growing
demand for public facilities.
Centereach is a great place for children! The
town has middle and high schools and a modern recreation center. The Public
Library is commendably active in furthering the learning interests of the
community and has an informative presence on the Internet. The Library staff is
professional in its outlook and enthusiastic about the master plan for the
future development of this high-profile public service. Soccer is a popular
sport with children in Centereach and their league is active with a good record. Regular
camps ensure that the standard of play keeps improving. Baseball is another
sport with a fair following in Centereach and the town has a Youth Forum as well.
Business
and commerce have their due importance in Centereach. The local Chamber of Commerce has
been active for the past 3 years. Its influence covers all of the Middle
Country Corridor. The Chamber aims to help its members develop their
enterprises. It is also a valuable platform for dialogue between local
business, the Centereach citizens and other stakeholders. A
variety of service industries dominate the membership and the Board as well
Shopping
is convenient and close at hand in Centereach, but the more notable feature is the town's array of
specialist services and stores. Center Gold offers select and fashionable
jewelry. It also has an ecommerce option on the Internet. Diamond Jewelers has
a new outlet in town as well. This outlet offers custom design services apart
from an enormous collection on display. Little Dickens is one of the finest
stores in all of Long Island for new-born children and for growing babies. It has everything parents
could want to buy or to gift at christening, for other special occasions and
for everyday use as well. The martial arts are represented in town by Tae Kwon
Do, which offers training in a number of oriental forms of self-defense.
Fine
cuisine at LoMonaco's and delicious ice-cream and cakes at the Cold Stone
Creamery distinguish dining and food choices in town. Centereach makes a notable contribution to the
cause of Swing Dancing through a volunteer organization to promote this form of
recreation and entertainment. The group meets once a week and offers live bands
on occasion. Everyone is welcome, even if alone and entrance fees are designed
to barely cover costs. The Holiday Inn has a property on the highway at Centereach and provides reasonable lodgings for
folks from out of town. It has a range of rooms, including facilities for the
handicapped. Suites and Jacuzzi rooms add a special touch of class. The hotel
offers a choice of smoking and non-smoking floors.
