Deer Park

Jacob Conklin could not have imagined the almost 29 thousand population village of Deer Park as it is today, when he first came here from England and settled in 1666. Fresh vegetables and flowers, especially Dahlia was the first occupations of agriculturists in this area that was originally rich in deer as its name suggests. Brick kilns and pickle production were some of the resident's first efforts at industrialization in the 19th century. Development received a distinct fillip through the reach of the rail road. More value-added pursuits cascaded in the boom that followed World War II and led to Deep Park being the bustling suburb that it is today.

President John Quincey Adams leads a spectacular line of famous Americans who have loved and lived in Deer Park. The Adams Estate sites an Elementary School to this day. Senator Robert Kennedy loved the places and a host of musicians, artists, performers and celebrities continue to frequent Deer Park. Beautiful homes add an exclusive touch to real estate in the area and modern shopping facilities contribute to a convenient and elegant lifestyle for the people. Deer Park makes for superior living conditions for adults and children alike.

Cuisine plays a key part in the integration of ethnic groups. Deer Park offers quality Jamaican food for example. Their slow-cooked chicken in a thick brown sauce has quickly become a local favorite! Asian specialty eating places nestle amicably with Pizzerias, Cafes and all American favorites, giving people a wide range of dining choices. One can choose between formal settings and a relaxed ambience for a family get-together. A dozen bars and pubs provide enjoyable diversion during evenings in this sedate neighborhood. It is possible to relax and converse with friends and enjoy popular genres of music before retiring for the night. The bright lights and variety of Manhattan are also within easy reach of those who seek it, or when guests need such entertainment.

The Deer Park Public Library was established in 1966. An exhaustive print collection accompanies the latest computer and Internet services. There are separate collections and services for people of all age groups. A variety of self-development programs are available for registered members. People can seek information resources to support a vocation or just for pleasure.
