Douglaston is suburban in nature, with single family homes, low-rise apartment buildings and garden complexes. Douglaston is surrounded by the Long Island Sound on 3 sides providing a scenic setting for residents. Douglaston has many outdoor parks, golf courses, and protected wetlands. Most shopping area is located on Northern Boulevard and along the Long Island Expressway. Living in Douglaston’s gets you the best of both worlds, as it has a short 25 minutes commute to Manhattan, and the beautiful scenery of the Long Island Sound.

Douglaston has a secluded area which was once a private club called the Douglaston Manor, this area is filled with large and luxury homes. Douglaston is an upper middle class suburb of New York, and in the mid 90’s it was one of the wealthiest neighborhoods in the borough.

Douglastonhas single family homes, low-rise apartment buildings and garden complexes which are usually moderate to highly priced. General rent for studio ranges from $950-$1150, one-bedroom from $1150-$1450,two-bedrooms from $1500-$1850, and three-bedrooms from $1900-$2500.
Most transportation is done via the Long Island Rail Road at the Douglaston Station, which has large parking lot for commuter cars. LIRR at Douglaston Station take 30 minutes to New York Penn Station on a normal working day.
