Almost 16
thousand people live in East Setauket, a town spread over some 8 square miles. The town represents
the best traditions and trends of the United States, with respect for history, culture
and the environment. It does not dwell on the past beyond reason however, and
takes pride in remaining at the vanguard of new technology that is relevant for
improving the quality of life for citizens.
Though East Setauket has the New York style of city life with modern
stores and services, one can enjoy the bounty of nature even within the
hamlet's very limits. The Setauket Mill Pond and Melville Park has a panoramic view of the
marshlands that border Conscience Bay, and is a wonderful exposition of
natural history as well as the agricultural roots of the town. The grounds have
a full working model of a 400-year old grain mill on the banks of a placid
pond. This Park attracts both residents and visitors for its recreational and
historic value. It certainly has extraordinary value for young and
impressionable people.
The Emma
Clark Memorial Library attracts attention even before one can browse through
its eclectic collection. It is housed in a period building with picturesque
surroundings. The collection for small children is designed to inculcate the
joys of reading from a tender age.
The Wild
by Nature Market is one of the unusual stores at East Setauket. Its product range of natural and
organic food products indicates new trends in customer preferences. A range of
wellness products have been added of late.
The Ophthalmic Center is one of the older and well known
services based in East Setauket. It has maintained high standards of its original treatment
while adding new technology benefits such as laser vision correction and facial
aesthetics. Drug Rehabilitation is available for people who suffer from
unfortunate addiction. The University Medical Center and Blood Draw are other key
facilities based in East Setauket. The Personal Training Institute is one of the places that
put the town on the Fitness map.
Large Victorian homes are available
for purchase as residence or investment in the salubrious surroundings of East Setauket. Realtors in town and those based
nearby value properties in East Setauket highly and recommend them with confidence.
Variety
of dining choices is a pleasant attraction of East Setauket. Ethnic and exotic food jostles with
mainstream American fare and some regional and national chains are represented
as well. Residents can enjoy the wide array over an extended period and guests
from out of town or from other countries can always find a meal that suits
their personal preference. The Velvet Lounge is a good place to welcome the
after-dark hours with a sunset cocktail.
A tour of
East Setauket or a brief visit can serve as a
delightful and informative exposition of the evolution of America as a land and its people. It
certainly evokes a sense of confidence in the future and could well instigate
some flirtatious thoughts of setting up permanent residence in its inviting
bosom.
